February 13, 2008

The WBCA's "Think Pink" initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.  The WBCA began "Think Pink" in 2007 as an initiative to raise breast cancer awareness in women's basketball, on campuses and in communities. In 2007, more than 120 schools unified for this effort and helped make the inaugural year of the WBCA's "Think Pink" a success.

How Rutgers-Camden will participate in 2008

On February 13th, Rutgers University-Camden will host "Think Pink" during the women's basketball game to be held at 6pm.  The evening will feature both teams in pink apparel and we encourage all fans to wear pink as well.  We will be giving out pink ribbons, and honoring cancer survivors.  Help raise money for a great cause and get involved!

  Half-Time Honors

Has the battle against cancer touched you in some way?  A friend? A relative?  Please nominate a cancer survivor to be honored at half-time on February 13th.  Email Erin Barney from the Athletics Department, or call her at (856)225-6197 with your nomination.

Donation & Sponsors
Ask friends and families to sponsor the women's basketball team on February 13th as they face off against conference rival, Richard Stockton

Money raised will be donated to Susan G. Komen For the Cure

Sponsors have a choice to donate a flat donation or by the number of points Rutgers-Camden scores during the game.  For example, a 10cent sponsor, when Rutgers scores 60 points would be a $6.00 donation.

Money pledged per point will be collected after the game.  Flat donations can be collected at any time.

All checks should be made payable to: Susan G Komen Foundation.  After all money is collected, the Susan G Komen Foundation will send out letters for tax purposes.
